My poor blubs...

A few nights ago Sirius was stung by a bee. He killed the little sucker (well, it was going to die anyway since it's stinger had been left behind, but still, Sirius bit it in half, good boy!) and then proceeded to have a mild allergic reaction to the sting. We gave him some Benadryl and Ben stayed up with him 1/2 the night until his breathing returned to normal. Two days later we finally found the stinger and plucked it out! Everything seemed fine, he was back to normal and wasn't even messing with the area in question... Until last night. We noticed he was licking and licking it. Not just that, but Luna and Mini were drawn to it too and took their turns licking it as well. We decided to take a closer look and OH MY GOSH... he had a big gaping HOLE! It was, of course, bleeding and thats why they were all licking it. We decided a trip to the vet was necessary and off we went to one of those 24 hour emergency vets, since it was 10:30PM and our vet was obviously gone for the weekend.

The poor blubbers had to have his shoulder shaved, so that they could inspect closely and clean it out etc. An hour and 1/2 later we were back home with an antibiotic, some pain meds, more Benadryl, and instructions to keep our pup nice and drugged for a few days. We're not too excited about the Clavamox he's on (antibiotic) because he's been on it before and it gives him the RAUNCHIEST stinky farts ever imaginable. So bad are they, that even Sirius can't stand it. He'll let one loose, his ears will go straight back, he'll look at his butt, sniff, and then get up and walk away groaning... as if that will help. Ugh, its awful. But oh wells, whatever it takes to get him better, right?

Here is a picture of his little wound. Poor baby...
