Lessons from Marley

A few years ago I read a book called Marley & Me by John Grogan. It's a true story about a newlywed couple that got a Lab puppy and named him Marley. They figured he'd be good practice for when they had kids in the future. Little did they know that this cute little furball would grow up to be a monster that would destroy their house, flunk out of obedience school, and turn their lives upside down.. literally! I read it because we were going through a rough patch with Mini and it gave me peace and gratitude that at least she was not THAT bad! It's a beautiful story about how this crazy dog managed to worm his way into the hearts of his mommy and daddy even though he was a hopeless case. One of those books that makes you laugh and cry at the same time.

Today is a better day... I'm still mad at Mini, but after finding out that Marley & Me is being made into a movie, it made me remember the things this book taught me and my heart has been softened a bit, my murderous inclinations slowly ebbing. Here is a trailer of the soon-to-be movie. It's one no dog-lover should miss!
